COMMENT ABOUT INNERMOST VISIONS
私の課題は、真にリズムのある線・色・形を発見することです。「真に」というのはつまり、私の内側から生じる純粋で無垢なリズムだという意味です。
創造性・クリエイティビティーとは本来、人間の本能と結びついているものだと私は思っています。「本質的なクリエイティビティー」とは、私たち個々の人間が考え抜くことで生み出されるものではなく、自分の欲望によって衝動的に生まれるものなのです。
私は事前に思い描いたイメージという枠を無視して手を動かします。無作意に描かれた線の中から、求めていた物が見え、浮かび上がった形は、色づけされたり、立体化されたりしてさらに展開していきます。
「INNERMOST VISIONS」とは、この深い探究へと進む過程なのです。
My work is about the discovery of authentic rhythms of line, colour and form. By ‘authentic’, I mean innocent rhythms that originate from within.
I believe that creativity is essentially linked to an inner-spirit and intuitive creativity, which is within each one of us, depends not on cerebral design but on a fundamental energy derived from impulse and desire.
Hoping to avoid the restraints of a preconceived image, I start work by drawing random lines; from within these lines buoyant forms begin to emerge and lead into further explorations with colour and into 3-dimensions.
`Innermost visions` are part of a continual process of discovery.
